Angry customer beats ECG workers for disconnecting his power

Two workers of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) were severely assaulted by an aggrieved customer, Samuel Kodjo Wormenor, for disconnecting electricity supply to his house.

The ECG workers had their shirts torn by the aggrieved customer who insisted on having his power back

A court report claims that the ECG officers, Osei Gyapong and Prosper Oyortey , had the collar of their shirts held at their necks, as the aggrieved customer slapped them and started pulling them back to his house.

He said the other ECG workers who were in the area heard of the incident and quickly rushed to the scene to rescue their colleagues.  He said in the process, the accused tore the uniforms of the complainants.

Meanwhile, the Samuel Kodjo Wormenor has been whisked to the Kpong police station as he faces charges of assault against public officers.
