Vice-president Kwesi Amissah-Arthur says the recent lecture on the state of Ghana’s economy by the NPP’s running mate Dr Mahamudu Bawumia are “lies”.
According to Amissah-Arthur, who is a former governor of the Bank of Ghana like Bawumia, the claims by the NPP man are all falsehood.
Dr Bawumia in a public lecture last Thursday argued the John Mahama-led administration has mismanaged the economy by borrowing excessively, saying the Mills government did far better than Mahama.
But the Veep in a sharp response said: “I heard that somebody has been making a lot of noise about the progress of this country and how the economy is not going well. John Mahama has worked hard and has developed this country to the extent that we haven’t seen in many years.”
He added that at the appropriate time he and the NDC would respond in full measure to all the lies that have been told by his junior.

“… We shall correct him and teach him the things that he doesn’t know but thinks he knows,” Amissah-Arthur.
The vice president also said Dr Bawumia is making noise about why he thinks Ghana’s economy is in terrible state.
