Accra chief dethroned for smoking "wee"

Nii Boye IV, the chief of Abeka, Accra, has been dethroned for spending his time smoking "wee"”, and denigrating his throne.

The Nii Boye royal family of Abeka which dethroned the chief said it had become embarrassing going to look for him in weed smoking joints each time his services were needed.

“It is a shocking and very sad situation. His action was disgracing the family, so when the elders considered the matter they decided to bring an end to the embarrassment. So what you heard was true. he is no more a member of the royal family,” Armah Ayitey, the spokesman of the family said.

Some have expressed fear that the chief’s removal may trigger clashes in the area, but Ayitey downplayed such fears, saying that many people were happy with the decision to get rid of him.
