Ghana's Lordina Mahama will sign a pact with Ivory Coast's Dominique Ouattara against human trafficking

The summit is expected to see the first ladies of both West African states, Lordina Mahama and Dominique Ouattara sign a joint declaration against cross-border human trafficking and child labour in the sub-region tomorrow, September 14.

Report by UN shows that hundreds of thousands of people are trafficked every year in West Africa with the majority of them sexually exploited.

Lordina Mahama, who is accompanied by the social protection minister,  Nana Oye Lithur and deputy labour minister, is expected back in Ghana by the end of the week.
