The incumbent National Democratic Congress (NDC) will be launching their much talked about manifesto today, September 17 at Sunyani in the Brong Ahafo Region ahead of the December general elections.
Taking place at the Sunyani Coronation park, organisers of the event say they are expecting in excess of over 50,000 supporters to be at the manifesto launch as President John Dramani Mahama together with high-level officials from government and within the NDC are expected to be present.
With the NDC’s ‘Green Book’ effectively outlining the key policies and projects, today’s event will be used to explain in details John Mahama’s for the next four years, and provide details of the key interventions he will be implementing in his second term, should he win the polls.
Tight security is expected to be launched before during and after the launch as police and military personnel hint of using drone surveillance against any chaos and terrorist attacks.
The launch of the party manifesto follows scuffles between the opposition NPP and incumbent NDC over the original owner of the manifesto. Meanwhile, President Mahama has publicly admitted that he personally wrote part of the manifesto.
