The electoral commission's office in the Ashanti region is being accused of withholding the ID cards of members of main opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP).
The Ashanti regional branch of the New Party Party (NPP), alleges that the EC is conspiring to disenfranchise NPP voters in the ongoing voter transfer exercise.
Regional secretary of the opposition party, Sam Pyne, claims the NPP has "incidence where there is a deliberate ploy to delay the process; people go to write their names and they retain their cards and ask them to come back at different times, people fill the forms and they ask them to go and that they will call them".
The opposition party is warning that "if we (Ghanaians) want peace as people talk about, then justice should prevail because peace without justice is a recipe for whatever the imagination of the Ghanaian people will be". Meanwhile, officials of the EC are yet to comment on the development.
