The NPP member of parliament for Assin Central, Mr. Kennedy Agyapong has threatened to slap Mr. Hassan Ayariga, the flag bearer of the All People's Congress (APC) for his remarks about the flagbearer of the NPP, Nana Akuffo-Addo's continued stay in his late father's Nima residence.
The APC flagbearer commented that Nana Addo, at the age of 72 was too old to still be living in his father's house and that he should retire from active politics and move out of his father's house.
"I made my first $1million at the age of 24 without working with any government. I have never been in a government position; I have never worked as a Minister for you to say I have stolen government money. I built my first house at the age of 22…; at age 72, my senior and my father, Nana Akufo-Addo, is still living in his father’s house. At this age 72, I would have retired from politics and been advising young men of this country to move this country forward and not contest with them anymore,” Ayariga said, in an interview with Class FM.
However, in response to the comments made by the APC flagbearer, Kennedy Agyapong speaking on Asempa FM stated that the comments made by Hassan Ayariga provocative enough that if he (Ayariga) was sitting next to him, he would have slapped him in the face. Mr. Agypong further stated that Ayariga was a 'pizza seller' who only created his wealth from the monies he collected from people.
He alleged that he had been informed also, that Ayariga received funds from the National Democratic Congress (NDC). He then cautioned Ayariga to remain silent or be exposed.
He further remarked that Ayariga could not measure up to Nana Addo, who he said also had another house in East Legon, and that the only reason Ayariga could speak so freely was because 'politics is cheap.'
