Presidential candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has again disappointed organisers of the Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA). His failure to attend the evening encounter has caused organisers to cancel the debate.
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) in an earlier excuse as to why Nana Addo failed to attend the debate was that their leader was waiting for the party manifesto to be officially launched before mounting the debate platform.
As it stands now, the NPP is yet to launch their manifesto hence the unavailability of Nana Addo.
IEA in a press statement argues that the decision to take Nana Addo off the debate "has nothing to do with IEA's preparedness."
So far, the flag bearers of the People’s National Congress (PNC), Convention People’s Party (CPP) and National Democratic Party (NDC), Edward Mahama, Ivor Kobina Greenstreet and Konadu Agyemang Rawlings respectively, have already appeared on the platform to announce their policy strategies to the public.
The IEA evening encounters are prior to the presidential and vice presidential debates to be held in the run-up to the December elections.
