6 things that will differentiate a Kumawood movies from others
The Ghanaian movie industry is arguably the third biggest movie industry in Africa.
Kumawood and Ghallywood combined produce a large number of movies monthly, that can only contest with Nollywood's releases. However, only Ghallywood produces movies that are considered world-class by many; Kumawood movie makers make the traditional type of movies.
Here's how to tell a Kumawood movie from a Ghallywood movie.
1. It has a ridiculous title
The name of Kumawood movies have evolved very little over the years. The name of the movie would honestly tell you what to expect.
Except you seek local comedic relief, you shouldn’t be watching these.
2. Too many unnecessary sequels
Once you see a movie that has a lot of ‘parts’, it’s most likely one of those traditional kinda movie. The "Kyeiwaa" movie has about 13 parts or so.
3. The first fifteen to twenty minutes are adverts
A classic Kumawood movie has tons of adverts with almost the same voice talking about “Opera Square” or "Kejetia" to throw you off balance. But right when you have probably given up, the movie starts.

4. The soundtrack will explain what happened
If you can't follow the movie for some reason or so, the background music will surely explain the movie to you.
5. There’s little or no consistency
Imagine a person can die with braids, come back as a ghost with dreadlocks or short hair Where’s the consistency?
6. Always ends abruptly
And just when you’ve managed to sit through and watch the most difficult part of the movie, you see “To God Be The Glory” with the members of cast being rolled out and you’re like
