It has been a gruelling campaign so far, with barely two months to the elections, but Nana Akufo-Addo could still afford a broad smile when he picked up his nomination forms at the Electoral Commission on Thursday.
Looking very fit, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flabearer could not hide his joy as the nominations forms landed on his palm.
"Since I'm the first to file my forms, I hope to be the first person you'll declare winner," Akufo-Addo told EC boss, Charlotte Osei.
Akufo-Addo's lieutenants, Acting Chairman Freddy Blay and Organising Secretary John Boadu, were on hand to sign the documents.
The 72-year-old was mobbed by reporters as he exited the EC office.
Scores of Akufo-Addo's supporters were also on hand to lend their support.
