Ghanaian actor, Agya Koo, has rejected criticism that he joined politics because he is hungry.
Michael Kwaku Ola of the Film Producers Association of Ghana (FIPAG) alleged in a radio interview that Agya Koo declared his support for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) out of hunger.
According to him, the actor offered his services to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) but was ignored, prompting him to switch to the NPP.
In an interview with Graphic Showbiz, however, Agya Koo dismissed the claims as NDC propaganda.
“Everyone knows NDC and their propaganda so I’m not surprised Ola has learnt their ways. Well, since he claims he has audios, I challenge him to bring it out as evidence of his claims. I just want Ola and the NDC to know that I will respond to them at the right time," he said.
The Kumawood star added that his focus was on helping Nana Akufo-Addo and the NPP win the election, vowing not to let the "NDC’s propaganda" distract him.
Agya Koo declared support for Akufo-Addo last week.
