Male students of the University of Cape Coast have been warned that they will be forced to marry any woman they impregnate in the area while in school.
According to the chief of Amamoma in the Central Region, students of the UCC are fond of impregnating the girls in the villages around and failing to take responsibility.
Nana Yartel III opined that the new rule would deter the male students from impregnating young ladies in the town.
He told a story of instances some students who live in the community had in the past impregnated young women in the town and abandoned them.
Nana further stated that the students run away from the town after their immoral acts, leaving the mothers and babies to their fate, a situation he describes as very worrying.
Meanwhile, he urged young girls in the Cape Coast municipality who have dropped out of school and wanted to learn a trade to submit their names for assistance.
The revelation was made during his 20th-anniversary fund-raising ceremony to construct skills training centre for the people of the town.
