Prince Adewale Fagbire, the Nigerian pastor who was alleged to have been struck dumb and motionless while attempting to destroy idols in a shrine in Ogun State, has spoken out.
YEN reported last week that Pastor Fagbire of the Christ Apostolic Church went to Ketu to destroy traditional worshippers’ shrines and after the destruction, he became motionless and could not talk.
In an interview the Nation newspaper, however, the pastor denied having been struck motionless.
Pastor Fagbire said although the traditionalists attacked him with “charms and other fetish objects”, he was not harmed.
He said he merely kept quiet while destroying the shrine in line with God’s instruction.
“I was conscious, physically and mentally sound, during and after the incident because God was already with me. I followed the instruction of the Lord to enter the shrine and packed all the items there away. I followed God’s instruction to be quiet as instructed by God,” he said.
His church was attacked by the traditionalists following allegations that it instigated Prince Fagbire to destroy the shrine, the Nation’s report said.
