NPP, NDC supporters clash at Ajumako

Supporters of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) have clashed at Ajumako Besease in the Central Region where the two parties had separate campaign programmes.

According to the Ajumako District Commander, ASP John-Paul Akonde, the police are yet to establish the cause of the fracas and bring the culprits to book.

He told Citi News that they received a distress call that some NPP and NDC guys have clashed. “What we gathered from our initial investigations is that one man said he was assaulted so, he and his friends went to retaliate.”

The Police officer said they are still conducting their investigations to unravel the truth of the matter.

We are still interrogating personnel. We have invited some independent witnesses around to give us enough information to help us know what truly happened because right now we have two sides of the story which we are interrogating.

Meanwhile, three persons are believed to have sustained various degrees of injuries in the process.
