According to a report by ghanaweb.com, Samuel and his colleagues were going round in a van making an announcement about a planned keep-fit exercise to be organised by the NDC when they encountered some NPP supporters who accused them of disturbing the peace and attacked them.

In the ensuing clash, an NPP supporter identified as Rasta, reportedly pulled out a bunch of car keys from his pocket and stabbed Samuel in the eye.

Samuel, who has now reportedly lost his right eye, was quoted as saying that the NPP supporters attacked them without any provocation.

He is said to have reported the matter to the police, but no arrests have been made.
