A new photo posted by the wife of flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mrs. Rebecca Akufo-Addo has raised a number of eyebrows among observers.
The photo which was taken during one of the campaign tours of the NPP in the Hohoe and Buem constituencies with Mrs. Akufo-Addo speaking to a crowd was shared on her Twitter page on Monday.
However, the interesting detail about the picture that sparked the surprise happened to be the fact that she was not holding the megaphone she was speaking into herself.
The suggested reasons behind Mrs. Akufo-Addo not holding the megaphone could be one of these: It was too heavy to hold; the kind gentleman offered to hold it for her; or maybe she is just too posh to hold it.
This is not the first time a powerful woman has been criticised for certain (in)actions. In the past, the First Lady of the republic of Ghana, Mrs. Lordina Mahama was criticised for not holding her own handbag during an international meeting she had with the First lady of China.
Mrs. Mahama's bodyguard was spotted holding her handbag whiles her Chinese counterpart held her own bag.
Is there anything wrong with this or are Ghanaians being too critical of women in politics?
