If you plan having a plush wedding at a hotel or garden at Ho in the Volta Region, you must know that your marriage will be termed illegal.
The marriage registry at the Ho municipal assembly in the Volta Region says all forms of marriages will be recognised as illegal if held outside churches.
Officer-in-charge of the marriage registry at the Ho Municipal Assembly, Ida Foli, reveals that only churches are certified to host marriage ceremonies.
Also, a chief state attorney at the registrar general's department, Nana Ama Akyiaa Prempeh, has described the situation as worrying. According to her, would-be couples need to ensure that their marriages were officiated by licensed priests at registered churches.
