Nana Akufo-Addo, the flagbearer of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), has rejected suggestions that his party plans to rig the December elections.
At the weekend, vice-President Paa Kwesi Amissah Arthur warned National Democratic Congress (NDC) supporters to be vigilant in order to prevent the NPP from rigging the elections.
But speaking at the Ablekuma West constituency in Accra on Tuesday, Nana Akufo-Addo said if any party planned to rig the elections, it was the NDC, which he said was very experienced in rigging.
He said the vice-president's remarks proved that the NDC had already lost ahead of the elections.
"...what I know is that President Mahama and his Vice President own the copyright to the rigging phenomenon in Ghana. We in the NPP believe in multiparty democracy. If Amissah Arthur has seen defeat looming, I appeal to him not to say things that will anger Ghanaians. We beg of him,” he said.
