The vice presidential nominee of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mahamudu Bawumia, could never have been a successful economist and politician in life if it were not for the support and policies of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), general secretary of the NDC, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, insists.
Asiedu Nketiah argues that Bawumia has a lot to thank the NDC government for because it was the NDC administration that facilitated his scholarship to study abroad under the rulership of ex-president Jerry Rawlings.
According to Asiedu Nketiah's narration, Bawumia was able to find a job at the Bank of Ghana after his return from abroad because Dr. Kwabena Duffour, an NDC member, was the governor of the Bank of Ghana, and because of his father’s position (as chief of staff under the Rawlings administration) he got a job at the Bank of Ghana where he was gradually promoted to become the deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana.
Asiedu Nketiah reveals that Bawumia is "a true NDC person whom the NPP has taken as their running mate.” deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana. He is a true NDC person whom the NPP has taken as their running mate,” Asiedu Nketia noted.
The revelation Asiedu Nketiah makes follows Bawumia's recent public lecture against the economic policies of the NDC. Mahamadu Bawumia argues that the Mahama-led administration continues to plunge Ghana into an economic recession - claims of which the international monetary fund (IMF) recently justified.
