An unidentified person hurled a stone at flagbearer of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo during his campaign tour at Osu in Accra.
Reports claim that just when Nana Addo was about introducing the NPP'S parliamentary aspirant for the Klottey Korle constituency, Philip Addison, he was forced to pause his message turning to complain to those beside him on the platform that someone had hit him with a stone.
“Someone just threw a stone at me, why? No problem, this is our politics in Ghana," Nana Addo stated.
So far, no one has been arrested in connection with the incident as police say they are resolved to investigate the matter. The NPP is feared to be divided on the front of the Korle Klottey constituency.
This follows the controversial decision of former constituency chairman, Nii Noi Nortey to file to contest as an independent parliamentary candidate following a legal battle with Philip Addison over the results of the NPP parliamentary.
