Most people rush in life looking for a quick break into success.
However, the true paths to success are most often not the most idealistic one. The way to make in in whatever profession one chooses is laced with so many setbacks it is almost easy to give up after several tries.
These 8 Ghanaians got their success through the rough path and sometimes even in their late years. Let their stories inspire you and drive you to keep holding on.
Kalsoum Sinare
One of the most popular Ghanaians faces gracing the silver screen Kalsum Sinare reached the apex of her game at a prime age. She entered show business in 1985 and had previously participated in Miss Ghana contents moving on later to represent Ghana in Miss World in Taiwan and won Miss Model of Africa.
It was later in the 90s that she began to be recognized, but she reached full stardom in 2000 after appearing in several blockbuster hits and continues to make her mark in the industry decades later.
Reggie Rockstone
The Godfather of Hiplife as he is popularly called achieved success in the early 90s there he pioneered the Hiplife movement and made it relevant and attractive as it is known today. He had an idea, a vision and he made it into a reality.
He’s one of the most celebrated and honoured musicians in Ghanaian History for the contributions he has achieved in the birth of a genre.

Ayi Kwei Armah
He was born in October 1939; he is an opulent writer best for his novels including The Beautiful Ones Are Not Yet Born and Two Thousand Seasons.
He falls in a category with writers such as Chinua Achebe and Wole Soyinka, and his works have received much praise. He achieved this late in his years.
Kofi Annan
Kofi Annan is famously known to be the seventh Secretary- General of the United Nations. He accomplished this feat in 1997 and later went on to win the Nobel Peace Prize in 2001.
His success is widely celebrated all over the world and has raised the African Standard to its Zenith.
Dr Mensa Otabil
He was recently named the most influential personality in Ghana. He is the founder of International Central Gospel Church (ICGC) one of the biggest churches in Ghana.
He has gained momentum and is widely known for his inspirational books that motivate Ghanaians to achieve greater things. From such a humble beginning his success took a while to blossom into what it is today.
Kwame Despite
He has cemented his name as one of the most successful entrepreneurs in Ghana. He began with just a cassette player and a chainsaw after he was deported from Nigeria. He is now the owner of various radio stations as well as a host of other products a notable one is Neat Fufu, Unique Ice and This Way Chocolate Drink. His success came in his prime and is proof of perseverance.
Joyce Aryee
She is a former politician and minister revered for the dedication of 40 years towards public and private service for the Republic. She formerly served as the chief executive officer of the Ghana Chambers and mines and the first female in Africa to hold such a position.
Her achievements are very exemplary one that other can emulate.
Gifty Anti
One of the most respected journalists and broadcaster in Ghana. In 2000, she achieved recognition through her work as a broadcaster at GBC She is an alumnus of Mfantsiman Girls Senior High School and champions in female empowerment, her experiences and age allowed her to become who she is.
Grace Nortey
Many veteran actors in Ghana reached stardom in their prime and Grace is a worthy example. The masses know her as Maame Jata or Obaa Gengen for her exceptional acting skills playing antagonistic characters on the silver screen. Her achievements in cinema are widely celebrated in Ghana.
