The People's Progressive Party (PPP) flagbearer Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom has announced he will be suspending his campaign tour over the death of his 2012 election running mate, Eva Lokko.
Eva Lokko, who was also the party's Klottey Korley parliamentary candidate, was receiving treatment in the United States when she passed away on Thursday, October 6, 2016. She was the first woman engineer to employed at the GBC and holds a Masters in Intelligent Management Systems, System analysis, and Design.
Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom in a Facebook post expressed his shock grief over the untimely death of his running mate and eulogized her.
"Eva took strong, principled positions and stuck to them. She was a strong voice, always reminding PPP youth to stick to our message, particularly our stand on incorruptible leadership. She was against insulting, disrespectful language and made that known to all. The PPP must be different in a positive way, she always said" he wrote.
He added that he needed a break, with some days off and canceled the broadcast that was scheduled for Saturday, stating that there was more to life than politics.
