It was a morning of stones, sticks and fire as students of the University of Ghana clashed in a near-fatal battle ahead of the school's matriculation today, Saturday 8.
Reports indicate that the fight, which broke between students of Commonwealth hall and Mensah-Sarbah hall, started when a member of Mensah-Sarbah was attacked by Commonwealth boys which led to a retaliatory reaction from the Mensah-Sarbah camp.
Members of the commonwealth hall camp were clad in red bands while their arch rivals of sarbah hall were in black. These two camps were heard chanting war songs as they wielded broken seats, stones, slabs.
So far, police and fire service personnel have arrived on the scene to calm tensions and douse the flames from a vehicle which was set ablaze.
