NPP's manifesto launch was just a festival of insults - John Mahama

John Dramani Mahama, the incumbent President of Ghana, is not a wee bit amused about the manifesto launch of the opposition New Patriotic Party.

The president has described the Sunday 9th launch of the NPP manifesto for the 2016 General Elections as an insult fest.

John Mahama sent a tweet, on the morning of 10th October 2016, a day after the NPP launched its campaign manifesto.

The tweets said "Michelle Obama quote appropriate for Ghana too after the NPP insult fest on Sunday. "When they go low, we go high".

A similar phrase was used by Hilary Clinton during the US Presidential Debate after she alleged that as Donald Trump descended into the abyss of insults, she would rise above it.

Many social commentators, however, were quick to call out the president for his tweet.

A user on Twitter asked the president to "look in the mirror" before accusing the NPP of insults.
