On Tuesday evening at the premises of TV3, leaders of the National Union of Graduate Students (NUGS) engaged in hot clashes which led to the firing of shots by the police on the compound.
The conflict started when a group of the NUGS leaders who were invited to an interview on TV3’s News@10, were met at the entrance by a rival group of supposed NUGS leaders who aimed to stop the first group from parading themselves as the true leaders of the association.
The NUGS leaders who were officially invited by TV3 had apparently arrived to the interview with two bodyguards, who attempted to dispel the rival group from disturbing their bosses.
The conflict then led to the clashes which could have turned bloody had it not been for intervention of the Flagstaff police nearby.
