The Member of Parliament (MP) for Manhyia South has taken a swipe at the President of the Republic of Ghana.
Hon. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, popularly called "Napo", says President John Dramani Mahama speaks before checking his facts.
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) MP was reacting to President Mahama’s comment targeted at the NPP running mate Dr Mahamudu Bawumia in relation to Bank of Ghana’s re-denomination of the currency in 2007.
President Mahama had recently challenged Dr Bawumia to disclose the cost of the re-denomination of the cedi.
But the legislator, who is also a medical doctor, said the President does not read. His claim is based on the fact that the Governor of Bank of Ghana at the time of the re-denomination exercise, Dr Paul Acquah, had presented all the requisite documents to Parliament in 2007 when indeed President Mahama was the MP for Bole/Bamboi.
The MP made this comment when he appeared on Accra-based Oman FM’s morning show “National Agenda”.
