The governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) has launched the party’s campaign in the Ashanti Region.
At the launched, the NDC upped it's target of votes in the stronghold of bitter rivals, the NPP. According to the party, they hope to obtain about 1.5 million votes in the region which is NPP’s stronghold.
The NDC in the 2012 elections obtained 612,616 votes representing 28.35% percent of total valid votes cast in the region for presidential whiles their opponent; NPP garnered 1.531, 152 representing 70.86% of the votes cast in the region.
But the NDC during their campaign launch indicated that they are working hard to triple its share of votes which partly the reason for lavish campaign launch in the region Saturday.
