President John Mahama has condemned what he called the New Patriotic Party (NPP)’s lies about his achievement in the Volta Region.
Speaking to residents of the region as part of his five-day tour there, Mahama said contrary to the NPP’s claims, he had undertaken massive development in the region.
He said, for instance, he had improved water supply in the Volta Region from 40% coverage to 70%.
He said many other projects were ongoing in the region and that by the time those projects are completed, the Volta Region will have higher than the national average of 76 percent.
“So if some people say, no work has been done in the Volta region and continues to propel that propaganda, it is not based on the fact. It is done for political reasons, which is a very wicked lie,” he said.
In related development, a video has viral online showing Mahama and Vice-President Paa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur disagreeing on the "I don't think far" phrase.
