Ghanaians blame President Mahama after DKM customer dies over meager repayment shock

One of the duped customers of microfinance firm DKM is reported dead as a result of shock after he received a “meager” repayment package Monday.

DKM saga has affected microfinance operation in Ghana

The deceased is the owner of Micky Enterprise in Berekum. He died Monday evening after he received a compensation of GHC3, 500 for his GHC600,000 investment with DKM. In an interview with Accra based Kasapa FM, leader of the “Concerned DKM customers” Maxwell Mahama said “a lot more people may lose their lives if the meagre repayment being given them is not reversed”. He opined that many of the customers who are discontent with their repayment packages have threatened to boycott the process and proceed to the court to seek redress.
