A member of the NPP communications team, Edmund Kyei has called Koku Anyidoho an “imbecile” in response to the derogatory comments made by Mr. Anyidoho about Dr Mahamudu Bawumia. Mr Kyei said that the recent insults by the NDC deputy general secretary against the NPP vice presidential candidate are deliberate attempts to instigate a particular ethnic group against the party.
According to Mr. Kyei, the NDC deputy general secretary is the embodiment of insolence with no respect for those in a higher level than he is, and whose words should be ignored by the media especially as they emerge from a “pathetic loose cannon” like Mr. Anyidoho.
In the past few months, Koku Anyidoho has had personal vendetta against the NPP running mate Dr. Bawumia, launching a series of verbal attacks targeted at degrading his person and integrity. He had called him a liar, as he claimed Dr. Bawumia failed to provide the list of supposed Togolese voters and called him a “useless politician.”
However, Mr. Kyei said that Koku Anyidoho has no moral ground to question Dr Bawumia, who has had a distinguished career.
“It is pathetic to listen to a nonentity like Anyidoho fighting tooth and nail to discredit Dr Bawumia. Ghana is suffering because elements such as Anyidoho got to the corridors of power. We were in this country when this same Anyidoho publicly announced the dismissal of the so-called Ashanti regional director of ECG, when in real fact, no position of such nature existed. What is his record when he worked as director of communications at the presidency? He was all over the place,” Mr Kyei stated.
