The Ashanti regional chairman of the National Peace Council has described the disqualified flag bearer of the All People’s Congress (APC) Hassan Ayariga as unfit to be the president of Ghana.
According to the council and its chairman, the APC flag bearer has behaved rudely and as such, should not be taken into consideration as a potential ruler of the country. The chairman of the peace council, Professor Stephen Asiamah was responding to the verbal attack on the EC chair, Charlotte Osei by Hassan Ayariga after the announcement of his disqualification from the 2016 presidential race.
“He used unprintable words on the EC Boss and that is something which is not palatable, when I heard it, I felt ashamed…he is unworthy of occupying the highest office of the land…,” said the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the Peace Council.
The comments made by Ayariga, according to the peace council chairman were enough to disqualify him from the December elections. He further urged the Electoral Commission to be better at interpreting and communicating the electoral laws, so that the application of these laws do not create unpleasant situations.
Days ago, when the electoral commission announced the disqualification of 13 presidential aspirants, Hassan Ayariga who was among the list of candidates made several offensive remarks about the EC chair as a way of venting his displeasure at being disqualified. Listen to him here:
