The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has started using the age-factor as a campaign tool against presidential candidate of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Addo Akufo-Addo.
General secretary of the NDC, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, is arguing that Nana Addo is too old to govern Ghana as compared to his fierce contender, President Mahama.
At a campaign launch of the NDC’s parliamentary candidate in the Adentan constituency, Mohammed Adamu Ramadan, Asiedu Nketia begged wife of Nana Addo, Rebecca Akufo-Addo to dissuade her husband from contesting the December 7 elections .
“The NPP says 72 years is good. She [Rebecca] should tell Nana Addo that he is too old and cannot govern the nation like how President Mahama is governing the nation,” Asiedu Nketiah appealed.
Nana Addo is currently in the Volta region to campaign for votes barely 43 days to the general election.
