The 2016 general election means a lot to President Mahama. With barely 43 days to the presidential election, President Mahama and his NDC administration are doing all they could to woo voters to re-elect him.
But in the midst of a fierce campaign and numerous endorsements, Mahama might be faced with some nightmares!
1. The fear of losing the December 7 elections is one of the greatest nightmares of John Mahama. A loss for Mahama will mean he will go down in the history of Ghana's fourth republic as the only sitting president to survive a first term.
2. Jerry Rawlings has stated that Mahama is being faced with corrupt officials in government - a development which has seen Jerry Rawlings openly criticise him and his government approach. But the worst nightmare for Mahama is to see Rawlings openly endorsing Nana Addo of the NPP.
3. Ghana's energy crisis, also known as Dumsor, is likely to see President Mahama lose the elections hands down.
4. A skirt and blouse election result with President Mahama winning the election and the main opposition taking over parliament is yet another nightmare for him. This could make legislation pretty difficult for him as president.
