The running mate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is giving the President no breathing space in the campaign for the 2016 elections.
Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has treated President Mahama’s call for debate with contempt.
The accomplished economist/banker has directed the President to rather debate the suffering masses.
According Dr Bawumia, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer should explain to the people of Ghana why utility bills, school fees and general cost of living are unreasonably high.
The former Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana (BOG) also dared President Mahama to respond to the 170 queries he raised in his recent lecture dubbed “The state of the Ghanaian economy – A foundation of concrete or straw”

He made this comment while campaigning in the Northern part of the country.
Dr Bawumia seems to have made it a duty to keep the tabs on President Mahama lately. Not too long ago, the NPP running mate reacted to the President’s request for disclosure on the cost of the 2007 Cedi re-denomination exercise conducted by the BOG. In his reply, Dr Bawumia suggested the President was unaware of the facts because he did not like reading.
