The Gyaasehene of Abotoase, Nana Ansah Asiedu, has said that President John Mahama will lose the December election.
Nana Ansah said this when the flagbearer of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akufo-Addo, paid a courtesy call on him as part of his Volta Region tour, a report by starrfmonline.com said on Tuesday.
The chief pleaded with Akufo-Addo to resume the payment of compensations due them as a result of the construction of the Volta Lake when he wins the election because “President Mahama is already gone. He has lost the election”.
According to him, the compensation payments were started by former President J.A. Kufuor but stopped when President Mahama took office.
“Maybe, before he exits power, he will still decide not to pay us compensation. Nonetheless, he will go (in December). He has no choice but to go. So we are appealing to you (Nana Akufo-Addo) to resume the payments of compensation when you come into office in January 2017 because it is the means by which some of my people survive,” Nana Ansah said.
