The flag bearer of the New Party (NPP) along with his campaign team have been left stranded at the Dambia river banks early today.
Reports coming in are that the only ferry in use, is currently stuck at the other of the river. According the ferry operators, apparently a truck being moved onto the ferry skidded and fell over into the water partially, as such it is stuck and the ferry cannot move until it is towed away.
However, some NPP officials suspect that the MP for Krachi West and Volta Regional Minister, Helen Ntoso to somehow be involved in what they call a sabotage of sorts.
The vice regional chairman of the NPP, Dr.Archibald Letsa has said that while the campaign trail is behind schedule, they are not worried.
“We don’t know what is going on because this is not the first time. It happened to Kufuor in 1996 and happened to us in 2012,” he said, adding that while they are disappointed at the setback, the campaign train remains hopeful that they will make it on time.
Nana Addo and his team were supposed to have visited the Nchumuru and Krachi West constituencies as part of the campaign tour before this delay.
