The former Deputy Energy Minister has sounded a warning to the General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Hon. Kwabena Tahir Hammond has assured Hon. Johnson Asiedu Nketia of being the first member of the NDC to be prosecuted under the Akufo-Addo administration in 2017.
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament (MP) for Adansi Asokwa in the Ashanti Region made this comment in reaction to a claim the NDC General Secretary made when campaigning in the constituency. Asiedu Nketia had recently suggested the NPP MP could not be prosecuted for his role in the sale of the drip ship due to parliamentary immunity.
K.T. Hammond has dared the NDC to commence prosecution and stop making untenable excuses. He further quizzed whether Kennedy Ohene Agyapong was not an MP when he was arrested for inciting ethnic violence in the build-up to the 2012 elections.
Hon. Hammond believes Mr Asiedu Nketia has many questions to answer in 2017 relative to how the NDC funded the construction of their alleged $20 million headquarters sited at Adabraka, Accra.
The lawmaker also claims the NDC is supporting an independent candidate in the constituency but he is very confident the NPP would retain the Adansi Asokwa seat.
