The main opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) is declaring Ghana's December 7th election date as ‘Kalyppo Day’.
The declaration was made by the party's firebrand and member of parliament for the Assin central constituency, Kennedy Agyapong.
Kennedy Agyapong argues that the choice of "Kalyppo" is to provide adequate food and water for the polling agents of the party during the polls.
“We have declared December 7th a ‘Kalyppo Day’, I have ordered large quantities of the drink and adequate food for my party agents… nobody will therefore have the chance to come and give them for them to abandon their posts, so they get the opportunity to rig…we going to take good care of them…,” He revealed on Oman FM.
The Kalyppo fruit drink shot up in the political landscape after the presidential candidate for the NPP, Nana Addo, was caught on camera relishing a sip of the fruit drink.
