The PPP (Progressive People's Party) 2016 presidential candidate, Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom, fires back and says an appeal against the court's ruling to overturn his disqualification by the EC (Electoral Commission) would be pointless.
"I don't know what they will gain in doing so," says Dr. Nduom in an interview on Joy FM's Super Morning Show on Monday.
Dr. Nduom won a court ruling Friday allowing him to correct discrepancies which were the basis of his disqualification by the EC. Meanwhile, EC has not ruled out the possibility of appealing Friday's ruling.
Meanwhile, Dr. Nduom still faces an investigation into his campaign funding by the EOCO (Economic and Organized Crime Office), and another that one of the signatures on his nomination forms was a forgery; allegations which he says he takes very seriously.
According to the letter sent to him from EOCO, the investigation into the PPP's campaign funding were taken up on behalf of the Auditor-General, "What is the Auditor-General's business in my private affairs?" says Dr. Nduom, "What I do in politics is governed by the Political Parties Act [and] it gives authority to the Electoral Commission to be interested in how the PPP funds the party."
"I have a clear mind, a clean heart, there is nothing that I want to hide from anybody," says Dr. Nduom, pleading innocence,
