The four business moguls are being assessed to assume the reins of Africa’s Club of the Century.
Reports from Kumasi indicate Otumfuo Osei Tutu II is considering appointing one of four top businessmen to steer the affairs of Kumasi Asante Kotoko SC.
The reports suggest the four individuals being considered are Herbert Amponsah Mensah, Dr Kofi Amoah, Dr Kwaku Frimpong and Paul Afoko.
Herbert Mensah was in charge of the club from 1999 to 2002. During his tenure, Asante Kotoko underwent several major reforms. Herbert Mensah’s business connections and expertise will be very beneficial to the club.
Dr Kofi Amoah is also an astute businessman. He introduced Western Union to Africa through his companies Global Access and Progeny Ventures. Dr Amoah was the Chairman of the Local Organisation Committee (LOC) for the 2008 Africa Cup of Nations staged in Ghana.

Dr Kwaku Frimpong is an ardent supporter and has also served the club in many capacities. He is the owner of Champion Divine Clinic and a host of other businesses. Asante Kotoko has been benefiting from his largesse.
Paul Afoko is surprisingly also being considered. The suspended Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is an avid fan of Asante Kotoko. The politician is known to own certain major firms in the country. His aide has already given an indication of Paul Afoko’s preparedness to accept the job should the Asantehene appoint him.
Otumfuo is expected to dissolve the Paul Adu-Gyamfi-led Board of Directors and by the extension the Management team headed by Samuel Opoku Nti before the new season kicks off.
