Grace Nortey, one of Ghana's veteran actresses has been admitted at the Korle-Bu Hospital, for the past two weeks.
The actress was very popular back into 1990s for her many roles, usually as a quarrelsome granny and gained recognition in films such as Lost Hope, Juju, Jewels, Expectations and many others.
While her illness was not disclosed, she is said to be responding to treatment, with doctors working round the clock to treat through a series of medical tests, according a relative.
In a telephone interview, the actress who was lying in her hospital bed said, "I can’t walk now, but I’m responding to treatment."
