With the current political scene in Ghana, especially with the upcoming elections in December, there are have been many voices that have made their opinions loud enough for the public to hear.
From campaign trails, to radio interviews to riveting speeches at rallies, Ghana is basically the political hotspot in this side of Africa now and it only gets hotter. One of the reasons for the current heated political atmosphere now are the women who are making their mark in Ghanaian politics today.
These women have been vocal and do not back down and are giving us major chills whenever their names are mentioned. These are the women taking over the current political scene in Ghana now:
1. Samira Bawumia. The wife of the New Patriotic Party running mate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, she has become a strong voice in the campaign of the NPP. She has stood her ground with the president and has showed she is able to take on any other opinion and strongly defend hers. She has been described as the Michelle Obama of Ghana.
2. Charlotte Osei. The chairperson of the Electoral Commission has proved her resilience even when her judgement has been called into question. Even though there are many naysayers fighting to throw doubt on her credibility, she has not backed down and is performing her duties accordingly.
3. Zenator Rawlings. The eldest daughter of the former President J.J Rawlings, she is following in her father's footsteps it seems, vying for a parliamentary position with the National Democratic Congress, and making efforts to connect with the people.
