Nigerian boy wakes up from coma, speaking Spanish

We can all admit that there are a lot in the world that is mysterious.

The family of 16-year-old Reuben Nsemoh experienced this in a very surprising way.

Nsemoh, who lives in the US, suffered a head injury in September while playing football. Another teenager accidentally kicked Reuben on the right side of his head during a game on Sept. 24 after Reuben dove for a loose ball.

He woke up from a coma speaking fluent Spanish for the first time in his life. He was uttering sentences in Spanish despite having known only a few words before the accident.

Nsemoh told, “It started flowing out. I felt like it was like second nature for me. I wasn’t speaking my English right, and every time I tried to speak it I would have a seizure. It was weird, It was not scary at all. I actually liked it a lot. It was really unique to me.

The family, though surprised, is simply grateful that Reuben is alive and getting better. His father, in gratitude simply said, “My son is awake, I don’t care what language he’s speaking. Whatever went on, he’s alive today and I believe 100 percent in recovery.”

Certainly a bizarre experience. What do you think must have happened?
