The lawyer for the Electoral Commission , Thaddeus Sory has been fined GHC500 by an Accra High Court .
According to the court, it is fining the EC’s legal counsel for failing to show up in court on the first hearing of the case where the Peoples' National Convention (PNC) Presidential candidate is seeking to overturn his disqualification from the 2016 general elections.
So five presidential candidates are in court to challenge the EC decision to disqualify them from contesting in the 2016 presidential elections.

The Chief Justice, Madam Justice Georgina Theodora Woode has assigned 17 specialised courts to handle all related electoral disputes that may occur in the December 7 polls.
According to the CJ, the move is to ensure that there are no delays in electoral litigations across the country.
