Akufo-Addo pledges to respect Ghanaians as president

Nana Akufo-Addo, the presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has pledged to treat Ghanaians with the uttermost respect if he wins power in December.

Akufo-Addo, who has pushed back against assertions by members of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), to the effect that he is arrogant, told residents of Ateiku in the Wassa East Constituency that he would be a humble and caring president.

“I am not coming into office to lord it over the people. Neither am I coming into office to use disrespectful language. I will not say to Ghanaians that they have short memories. I am also not coming into office to steal anyone’s money to fill my pockets. That’s not why I am seeking your mandate,” he said.

The NPP leader vowed to use se “the little wisdom, knowledge and strength” that God had given him to create wealth, jobs and prosperity for all Ghanaians.
