Coffee is known for its various health benefits: it increases energy levels, fights depression, it lowers the risk of heart attacks, dementia, liver disease, type 2 diabetes and may more. Now one more wonderful property of the fragrant beverage was discovered.
American researchers studied data from 4,000 men, and, using 24-hour dietary records, assessed the amount of coffee, tea, fizzy drinks and other fluids they consumed on average per day. And it has appeared that erectile dysfunction (ED) is one of the many conditions that coffee could provide a solution for.
1) Men who drank 1-2 mugs of coffee (between 85mg and 170mg of caffeine) daily were 42 % less likely to report impotence than those who drank none;
2) And those who drank between 2-3 mugs (171 and 303mg of caffeine) were 39 % less likely to suffer from erectile dysfunction.
It is still unknown how exactly the caffeine affects men's health but there is an assumption that it triggers a series of effects that help relax the arteries in the penis, thus increasing blood flow. The scientist are going to continue their study to provide more accurate information about one of the most popular everages in the world. Drink coffee sensibly and be healthy!
