Counsel for the embattled Progressive People’s Party (PPP) flagbearer on Tuesday submitted an updated and error-free nomination form of the party’s presidential candidate to the Electoral Commission.
The edited version was submitted to the EC officials by lead lawyer for the party, Nii Ayikoi Otoo.
Also, eight other disqualified candidates all managed to resubmit their nomination forms.
The parties who successfully submitted their forms apart from Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom’s Progressive People’s Party, (PPP) are National Democratic Party (NDP), All People’s Congress (APC), People’s National Convention (PNC), and the Great Consolidated Popular Party (GCPP).
The rest are Independent candidate Asiedu Walker, United Progressive Party (UPP), United Front Party (UFP), and the People’s National Convention (PNC).
The candidates were disqualified in October by the EC after anomalies were detected in their nomination forms.
An impasse between the PPP and the EC ended up in the Supreme Court after the commission disqualified Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom and 11 other presidential candidates over errors that were detected in their nomination forms.
The Supreme Court, however, affirmed an earlier High Court ruling that ordered the commission to allow the candidates correct their errors and be admitted into the December race.
