A man in Kisii has been sentenced to 200 years in jail after he was found guilty of brutally murdering his four children by a Kisii court.

Lucas Misati was handed the lengthy jail term after pleading guilty to the charges. Kisii resident magistrate Joseph Karanja ruled that Misati will serve the sentence concurrently for 50 years for each of the four counts of murder he had been charged with, reports Standard.

Justice was finally served after four years since Misati committed the crime.

In November 10, 2012, the country was shocked to the core when it woke up to news that a man had man-slaughtered his four children in Kisii county.

According to the accused’s wife, Hellen Kemunto, Misati came home at night and demanded that they move house immediately.

His wife objected saying they had to clear rent arrears and plan on how to move. But Misati could not listen. Instead, he picked a knife and stabbed her on the forehead.

Kemunto managed to escape and sought treatment at Kisii Level Five hospital where she spent the entire night.

She left behind her four kids; Toto Misati (3), Brian Misati (9), Ontoyo Misati (7) and Naomi Mogutu (5). Little did she know that was the last time she saw them.

According to her, Misati had called the land lady and told her to to inform his wife to pick the kids from the nearby bush.

Misati disappeared after the incident but was arrested a year later, and has been in jail since 2013.

His wife, Kemunto, has since re-married and has a child.

He has 14 days to appeal the sentence which is likely to see him spend the rest of his life behind bars.

Misati’s case was linked to that of serial killer Philip Onyancha. Onyancha was nabbed by ssecurity officers and shocked everyone when he admitted to have killed 19 people and drank their blood, majority of them women.

The serial killer took police officers to different places where he said to have committed the crimes.

He has since been charged and is behind bars.
