The incumbent National Democratic Congress (NDC) is ordering the inspector general of police (IGP) to immediately arrest all supposed NPP supporters who fired gunshots during a faceoff at the residence of the NPP flagbearer, Nana Addo.
NDC Greater Accra regional chairman, Ade Coker, claims his party has photos of all NPP supporters wielding guns and armory during the face-off.
“We are sending these pictures to the IGP and ask for the swift arrest of those in these pictures who were holding guns in the full glare of the police and in front of Akufo-Addo’s residence,” he stated
Supporters of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) and New Patriotic Party (NPP) clashed Sunday morning right infract of the Nima residence of the NPP flagbearer.
But for the timely interference of the police it would have been a bloody encounter. It is unclear what triggered the clashes but accounts from both sides confirmed reports of gunshots and hurling of harmful objects.
According to eyewitness some NDC youth who were involved in a health walked allege that the personal security detail of the NPP presidential candidate fired multiple shots at the sight of the crowd.
