- Laura Saull went to the doctor asking for a cancer test but she was rejected because of her age
- The Doctor prescribed her with anti-anxiety pills
- Six months later she was diagnosed with aggressive stage three breast cancer
A 27-year-old woman named Laura Saull never thought that the doctors who treated her a couple of months ago would sing what she has described as her death sentence after refusing to perform her some tests to see if she had breast cancer.
According to Laura, doctors told her that she was “too young” to have the disease despite she told them she had noticed changes in her breasts. The doctors instead of performing the test gave her anti-anxiety pills.
Six months later she was diagnosed with aggressive stage three breast cancer and began an intensive course of chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Now she is suffering stage four of the disease and has had to have both breasts removed.
She said she feels they have taken her life away from her and also said “I now have a death sentence.”
Laura´s mom died of cancer and now she said the doctors who refused to make the test on her, sentenced her to fight the same battle her mother had.
In a interview Laura said that she is sharing her story because she doesn’t want that other young people have to suffer the same ordeal she has.
She said: “Cancer does not pick and choose age. I believe if they had caught my cancer a year before they did, it would not be terminal at this point.”
Like her mother Janet, who died at the age of 42 when Laura was 11-years-old, the cancer has spread to the rest of her chest, spine, ovaries and brain.
In terms of coping with the disease, brave Laura said: “I can only hope I do it with as much grace, and love and humor as mom did.”
